Landscape with______ speaks of the debris coming out of the numerous building sites, endless renovations, repairs, sidewalk sheds and interior demolitions from storefront closures in New York. Recovering from the 2008 financial collapse the city experiences an intense construction boom together with new zoning laws to build bigger, “better,” profitable edifices.
Landscape with______ is about changing neighborhoods consumption and its garbage, the after-effects of architecture and the institutions that finance it. Nowhere is this activity more evident than on the sidewalks. Rather than looking at New York’s heroic angles, this project is drawn to the banality of the ground.
